Why we’ve started this new support service

We’ve been told that people can find it difficult to access the information they need, speak to their doctor and relatives, and generally make sense of their situation.

For example we often hear from people we speak to that:

  • it can be difficult to navigate the health and care system
  • information is overwhelmingly medicalised and often leaves out the social, emotional and practical aspects of support

Hina, our Peer Navigator, draws from her own personal experience of living with a life-changing condition to support others in a similar situation.

Who this is for

The Peer Navigator service is for anyone who:

  • has had a recent life-changing or terminal diagnosis
  • is living with a long-term condition
  • is facing important treatment decisions
